Parents Unite for Safe Homes

The Safe Homes Program consists of a pledge that confirms that ONE family CAN do something to prevent teenage alcohol and drug use in a simple and positive way by agreeing to always supervise parties in their home, and to not allow alcohol or tobacco to be used in their home by underage youths, nor to allow any illegal drug to be accessible or available in their home. Many parents together can make prevention a school and community standard and support each other through the SAFE HOMES Directory.

The United Way

The Steele County Safe and Drug Free Coalition is funded by a Drug Free Communities Grant through SAMHSA. We have our own leadership and membership structure and our own staff Project Coordinator. However, we would not have gotten our start without the United Way of Steele County. The United Way helped write our original grant application and continues to administer the grant money for us, The coalition also maintains its office within the United Way building. We are proud of our close relationship and partnership with the United Way of Steele County.
